For the academic session of 2025, the KOICA Scholarship is available for international students. You can now apply for the KOICA Fellowship Program 2025, but make sure you meet this year’s requirements. KOICA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2025

  1. Eligible Nationality: Only individuals from selected countries can apply. The Korean government decides which countries are eligible, and this can change every year.
  2. Employee Status and Government Nomination: International applicants must be government officials and need their governments to officially recommend them for the scholarship.
  3. Health: Applicants must be in good health both mentally and physically to study in Korea for the program’s duration. Individuals with disabilities are also eligible but must be in good mental and physical health. Severe illnesses disqualify applicants.
  4. Age: Preferably, applicants should be under the age of 40.
  5. English Proficiency: A good command of English is required for both speaking and writing. You must be able to attend classes and write academic reports and theses in English.
  6. Preferable: Applicants should be working for the government during and after the program, using their skills and knowledge to benefit their government.
  7. Minimum Level of Education and Field Experience:
    • For the Master’s degree program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of work experience.
    • For the Doctoral degree program, applicants must have a master’s degree and at least 3 years of work experience after graduating from a KOICA Master’s program.
  8. University Eligibility: You need to follow the rules and requirements set by the university you are applying to. This includes submitting all necessary documents.

Not Eligible If:

Candidates are NOT eligible for the KOICA Scholarship if:

  • They have previously received a scholarship for a degree from the Korean government.
  • They are already enrolled in a degree program with a Korean government scholarship (excluding KOICA program).
  • They were KOICA scholars whose scholarships were canceled after starting the program.

Applicants must complete the KOICA Master’s Degree Program before joining the KOICA Doctoral Degree Program.
